Midtown Printing Earns Color Management Recognition

Joins Elite Group of G7 Master Printers

June 3, 2010 – Midtown Printing Company is now a recognized color management master through qualification under IDEAlliance GRACoL 7 Proof-to-Print Process. This is the latest milestone in a nearly 50-year history for Midtown Printing, one of an elite group of printers in the St. Louis area to achieve this. This is a continuous effort of Midtown Printing to maintain the highest standards in product quality and customer satisfaction.

GRACoL 7, a comprehensive measured approach to color management, provides the most reliable match between a proof and a press sheet. “It was an extensive process to achieve calibration qualification, but very much worth the effort,” says Tom Auffenberg, President of Midtown Printing Company. “Being a G7 Master Printer enhances our ability to achieve our customers’ quality standards. In addition to greater predictability of results, Midtown is now able to reduce costs through less waste and faster turnaround times.”

The mission of GRACoL is to improve communications and education by developing practices that reflect the influence and impact of new technologies in the workflow of commercial offset printers. To date, the IDEAlliance G7 program has impacted pressroom training and color consultants from Asia, Australia, North America, Latin America and Europe.
